Burned Orange: Tom Penders and 10 Years at the University of Texas
Published in Paperback by Addax Pub Group (February, 2000)
Average review score:

Very Interesting ReadAs a college basketball fan, I found this book to be very interesting. As the book claims on its back cover, it really does provide a behind-the-scenes look at a Division I basketball program. It also provided quite a bit of background information throughout Penders 10 years, all of which culminated in the final season and nasty ending. Not being a Texas fan personally, I recommend it to all college basketball fans who enjoy reading about the greatest sport on earth.

Footprints in the Ramapos: Life in the Mountains Before the State Parks
Published in Paperback by Marjorie R Smeltzer (September, 1993)
Average review score:

Following the "Footprints in the Ramapo's".This publication is one of a series of geneological "gold mines", Marjorie Smeltzer-Stevenot has reseached and pulished. Along with a historical review of those who first settled in the Ramapo mountains of Rockland and Orange counties, New York, Marjorie Smeltzer-Stevenot provides us with a glimps of what life was like for the folk who carved a life out of the hills and how they were virtually uprooted by the government. I have spent years, researching my lineage when I happened across one of Marjorie's other publications, "Families of the Ramapo's". I could'nt believe my eyes! It was as though the book was written for me.
I would highly recommend "Footprints in the Ramapo's" to anyone who has an interest in the history of the Ramapo mountain region of New York. Though Marjorie Smeltzer-Stevenot's books may be difficult to aquire, they are worth the effort!

Gousha's new revised street atlas of greater Los Angeles, Orange & Ventura counties
Published in Unknown Binding by H.M. Gousha Company ; Distributed exclusively by Mitock Publishers ()
Average review score:

Best Slim L.A. Street Atlas (sadly out of print)I have carried this slim Los Angeles street atlas with me on over fifty trips there. Unlike the excellent Thomas Guide, Gousha's is light enough to toss into the briefcase without thinking about it. Rental car, L.A. traffic, late for a meeting ... Gousha's has gotten me out of trouble many times. Please get the excellent guide back into print! -- T.K.

Little Orange Submarine
Published in Hardcover by Cartwheel Books (June, 2001)
Average review score:

Great for our 2-year-old tech-kidI just love how Ken Wilson-Max focuses on books about technical stuff and machines for little kids. I this book our son could flip things and levers and really use his imagination. I highly recommend this little book for anyone with a child interested in machines, cars etc. The only bad thing (as with all books of this kind) is that paper things break fast in little hands.

Marian Mass Book White Orange
Published in Library Binding by Regina Press, Malhame & Company (April, 1981)
Average review score:

good, easy to read, comes with pictures! This is the book we were given as school children by the nuns when celebrating our First Holy Communion. So I found it fitting to give it to my nieces and nephews on their First Holy Communion. It follows the Catholic mass, almost word for word, and is very easy to read. Hopefully, it will encourage the little ones to follow along and pay attention during mass, (rather than fight with each other;-)

McCormack's Guides Orange County 2000
Published in Paperback by McCormack's Guides (December, 1999)
Average review score:

McCormack's Guides Orange County 2000I found this guide, like the others in the series, is an invaluable resource when considering relocation to a new area.
Once again, the ability to get a convenient single source of details regarding schools, housing, and many other aspects of a community has been a great help.
I have moved to a variety of places in the US and whenever possible I have used these guides as a starting point for helping me decide where to live.

Orange County Adventures With Children

Lot's of great ideasYes, Orange County has Disneyland, the Knott's Berry Farm, and all those other wonderful tourist destinations. But where to go with the family when you don't want spend hundreds of dollars? How about a county park where you can dig fossils. Maybe tour of an envelope factory. Or perhaps you already have some ideas and want to know what are the best kid campgrounds and beaches, when the local festivals happen, or which musuem is best for your crew. It's all here. A great book full of ideas and places to spend an afternoon with your kids -- or without them!
